First Lithium (LiFeMgPO4) Solar Generator
![]() |
This lithium-ion Model MS-150 solar generator is the result of a series of evolutional design changes that came about after the disaster in Japan in March of 2011. Built on the small MS-150 platform, and containing a LiFeMgPO4 battery bank rated at 690AH (@24VDC), it’s able to satisfy a variety of application demands.
This Lithium-Ion (LiFeMgPO4) battery bank is rated at 690Amp-hours (@ 24VDC) and weighs less than half of its lead-acid counterpart. The lighter weight, coupled with Lithium's ability to charge and discharge at a much more rapid rate, gives this little unit the strength it needs to handle serious power loads.

Idaho National Laboratory, Mobile Grid-Tie System
![]() |
Designed for the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory, this model MS-375 is outfitted with Outback Power’s grid-interactive inverter/chargers –- allowing it to be hooked into different locations at the INL’s testing facility in Idaho Falls, ID. The electrical engineers working on the project hope to learn more about how they can effectively respond to a coordinated attack on our nation’s electrical grid.

Verizon Wireless - Mobile Cell Station
![]() |
This system was designed to power a remote, mountain-top cell tower in Northern Nevada. Initially needed to supply signal to a temporary worker camp, this model MS-250 will most likely spend decades transmitting signal for Verizon Wireless in other locations.

U.S. Army
![]() |
During the height of the War in Iraq, the US Army was investing heavily in technologies designed to combat the threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) – the most common killer of US service men and women in Iraq. SAIC worked with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to design and test a system that would assist in identifying potential IED threats. This system was being tested under the POSSE program at Fort Irwin – in the Mojave Desert, near Barstow, CA.
